St. Jude Medical Center – Plaza MOB CT Replacement
Owner: Providence Health Services
Architect: Lionakis
General Contractor: Williamson Construction Company
Mechanical Engineer: Glumac
Electrical Engineer: Solas O’Brien
Location: Fullerton, CA
The project scope included the decommissioning and removal of an existing CT scanner, along with suite modifications to accommodate the installation of a new Siemens SOMATOM TOP 137728 on the first floor of the SJMC Plaza MOB. The renovation involved complete replacement of interior finishes and casework. Upgrades to the HVAC system and electrical panels were necessary to support the new air-cooled scanner and associated power conditioner. Due to the location, both the removal of the existing scanner and the delivery of the new unit required meticulous coordination, as transportation occurred through the building’s main lobby.
OC&M was responsible for negotiating the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract with the general contractor, overseeing construction and project scheduling, managing the procurement and installation of all owner-furnished equipment, and administering the overall project budget.
