This project involved the replacement of nurse call systems serving 63 patient beds across 2 departments located on separate floors. To minimize disruption to hospital operations, the work was executed in 16 carefully planned phases over a 9-month period. Each phase required implementation of infection control measures, including negative air pressure, and underwent inspection and approval by HCAi.

The scope of work included the installation of patient stations with code blue, staff assist, and pillow speaker capabilities; corridor dome and zone lighting, restroom patient stations with staff assist and code blue features, and nurse station consoles. Temporary nurse call systems were deployed on each floor during construction, each requiring HCAI inspection and approval every 30 days.

OC&M was responsible for managing the design process through HCAi approval, negotiating the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contract with the general contractor, overseeing construction and scheduling, coordinating the procurement and installation of all owner-furnished equipment, and managing the overall project budget.
