OC&M provided Preconstruction and Project Management services on this Hindu temple located in Lancaster, California. The prominent 4,500 s.f. center for worship is designed by CSA Partners and incorporates traditional Hindu architecture. Its ornate design makes it a landmark in the community. The dome of the main temple is clad with 32 pieces of precast concrete. The 8 chapels are topped with domes using an additional 32 pieces of precast concrete and 8 precast finials. In total, more than 400 pieces of precast concrete were used. These elements along with full height window walls and brick veneer exterior set this building apart as a monument to the local Hindu community.
This facility will provide a worship center dedicated primarily to lord Vishnu one of the prime deities of the Hindu tradition and the supreme Gold of the Vaishnavite sect. Additional shrines (chapels) are included for 8 other deities. The end result is a traditionalist temple of northern and southern Indian confluence, placed behind modernist support facilities designed to inspire younger generations to fervent worship.
