Project Engineer

This person will perform support on a daily basis to a project team acting as an owner’s representative, augmenting the client’s current Design and Construction team. This team is assigned to a major medical facility in Los Angeles and is responsible for multiple capital improvement projects.

 Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and engineering support to your teams by completing all requested tasks with the utmost professionalism and efficiency.
  • Maintain and distribute current contract documents.
  • Set up projects in the project management system e-Builder; maintain project files and complete various project data entry.
  • Coordinate meetings with stakeholders and monitor invitees’ responses. Coordinate technical requirements of meetings including projector, laptop, and teleconference requirements.
  • Track team members’ deliverable deadlines.
  • Take and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Maintain project files in e-Builder or other appropriate application compliant with project record retention policies.
  • Project Closeouts – Coordinate all project closeout activities and deliverables throughout the project process including all final invoices, gathering of final lien waivers from vendors and submit necessary closeout packages as required by the client.

Skills:

  • Proficiency with e-Builder a plus.
  • Manage priorities appropriately, address unexpected/urgent internal and external requests, maintain balanced work load; proactively engage in regional support and resource sharing.
  • Demonstrate accountability and ownership with every initiative or project.
  • Time management and ability to multi task
  • Self-motivated, dedicated, and goal-oriented. Must work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment and be flexible to change with business priorities
  • Proficient in administrative functions and skilled in the use of office equipment and computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks/projects with little supervision.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Expert skills in all office software systems including Microsoft Work, Excel, Project, Outlook, Power Point as well as Adobe Acrobat, e-Builder.

Qualifications:               

  • BS or equivalent degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, architecture or other related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must have experience/skills in construction Project Management (architecture, general contracting, construction estimation, scheduling, engineering, design/permitting process, bid development, contract and/or sub-contract management)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field
